Glowi is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains, in plain language, what data we collect, why we collect it, who processes it and the choices you have.
What Data We Collect
Analytics: We use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool that we host on our own servers. It works without cookies and does not collect personally identifiable information. It records aggregated usage data such as page views, referring websites, device type and country, which helps us see which guides are useful.
Newsletter: If you subscribe to The Friday letter, we store your email address, the date and wording of the consent you gave, and the IP address and browser information from the moment you signed up (to prove consent and prevent abuse). We use double opt-in: nothing is sent until you confirm your subscription from the email we send you.
Emails you send us: If you write to us, we keep your message and email address only to reply and follow up.
How We Use Your Data
Analytics data is used only to improve the Site. Your email address is used only to send the newsletter you asked for. We never sell, rent or share your personal data for advertising.
Who Processes Your Data
Newsletter subscriptions are stored on servers we operate, and newsletters are sent from our own mail server; we do not use a third-party email marketing service. The Site is delivered through Cloudflare, which processes technical request data (such as IP addresses) to deliver and protect the Site. Our fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google and shares your IP address with it when you visit.
The partner placements on the Site are images hosted by us. They do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels; if you click one, you leave Glowi and the partner’s own privacy policy applies.
Cookies
Glowi itself does not set cookies, and our analytics do not use them. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies to protect the Site from abuse. You can block cookies in your browser settings without affecting your ability to read the Site.
Your Choices
Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link that removes you with one click, and you can resubscribe at any time. You can also ask us to delete your data by emailing us.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you are located, you may have rights to access, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you. California residents have additional rights under CCPA/CPRA, including the right to opt out of data sales (we do not sell data). Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut and similar jurisdictions have comparable protections, and visitors from the EU and UK have rights under the GDPR.
Children’s Privacy
Glowi is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.
Data Retention
Analytics data is kept in aggregated form. Newsletter data is kept while you are subscribed; after you unsubscribe we keep only what is needed to respect your choice and not email you again. You may request deletion at any time.
